While the idea of having a routine might sound completely boring to you, you might be surprised to learn that routines can be extremely beneficial.
Think about the roles routines have played in our lives. As a child, your schedule was pretty predictable. You woke up at a certain time, went to school at a certain time, maybe even ate dinner at a certain time, and went to bed at a certain time. Your life was very scheduled.

We’re always looking for more time in the day and a routine is your way to get it. A well-planned schedule can help you plan projects, keep you ahead, and can easily be adjusted for you to make more time to accomplish everything you want to within the day. Instead of scrambling to complete last minute projects, you’ll have a clear picture of when and how things will be done.
You Become More Efficient
With time savings also comes increased efficiency. Instead of hopping from one project to the next, you’re able to stay on track and on focus in accordance with your schedule. It won’t be long after you implement your new routine that you find you’re also becoming more efficient.
You Save Brain Power
Every decision you make requires brain power — even if that decision seems small. When you wake up in the morning and make choices about what to do first and how to spend your day, you’re using brain power. With a routine in place, you no longer have to make as many of those little decisions. Your routine can save your brain power so you’re able to use it on the big tasks that require more energy and focus.

We all have habits that we’re not proud of and habits that we’d like to take up. If you’re looking to eat better, get more exercise, read more, etc. then the answer is routine. Be honest with yourself, are you a procrastinator? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Many people put off tasks simply because they are overwhelming or take a long time. Before you know it, you may even start finishing projects ahead of schedule.

Have you ever had a day where you woke up so stressed out about all you have to do? It can be an overwhelming feeling.
